JOB DETAILS
We are seeking an experienced and driven Production Supervisor to lead, support and develop a production team within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
You will be responsible for ensuring that daily production activities are executed safely, efficiently and in line with the production plan, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and operational excellence.
This is a key leadership role where you will act as the link between shop floor teams and management, ensuring clear communication, strong performance management and continuous improvement across all production activities.
You will play a critical role in developing people, improving processes and driving operational KPIs across safety, quality, cost and delivery.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership & People Management
- Lead, motivate and manage the production team to achieve operational and business objectives
- Provide day-to-day supervision, direction and support to production employees
- Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions and development conversations (PDR process)
- Identify training needs and support employee development and capability building
Production & Operational Delivery
- Execute the daily production plan and ensure targets are achieved on time and in full
- Ensure availability and correct usage of machinery, equipment and materials required for production
- Monitor raw material stock levels and support planning and logistics functions where required
- Ensure full compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards and procedures
Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all production activities comply with company Quality Management Systems
- Apply and enforce work instructions, procedures and standard operating practices
- Ensure all quality issues are identified, reported and addressed promptly
Process Management & KPI Ownership
- Support the creation, documentation and continuous improvement of departmental processes
- Ensure production processes are followed consistently across the team
- Track, monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) including safety, quality, productivity, cost and delivery
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the production area
- Use structured problem-solving tools such as DMAIC, 5 Whys, Fishbone, 8D and Lean methodologies
- Drive initiatives focused on improving safety, quality, efficiency, on-time delivery and cost reduction
Communication & Collaboration
- Communicate clear objectives, expectations and performance updates to the production team
- Maintain regular communication with Planning, Quality, Purchasing, Shipping and other departments
- Provide timely updates on production performance, issues and progress to management
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience in a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor or Team Leader role within a manufacturing environment
- Strong track record of leading production teams and delivering operational targets
- Experience working with production KPIs including safety, quality, cost, delivery and efficiency
- Hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) practices and enforcement
- Experience working within a Quality Management System environment
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Planning, Quality, Logistics and Purchasing
- Experience using ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools for reporting and production control
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline, or equivalent manufacturing experience
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and tools (5S, DMAIC, 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys, Six Sigma basics)
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams
