CLIENT SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

JOB DETAILS

Our client is a market-leading provider of managed internet, network infrastructure and smart building connectivity solutions, supporting multi-tenanted residential and student accommodation environments across the UK and Europe.

Due to continued growth, they are hiring a Client Solutions Engineer to support the technical sales lifecycle and ensure structured, scalable solution design prior to handover to delivery teams.

This position acts as the technical bridge between Business Development, clients, developers and internal engineering teams. You will translate customer requirements into commercially viable, technically robust managed connectivity solutions — owning the engagement from site survey through to high-level design and structured documentation.

This is not purely a pre-sales role. It requires strong technical grounding across managed Wi-Fi, LAN, fibre infrastructure and networking, combined with commercial awareness to cost, scope and present solutions confidently.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partner with Business Development to translate client requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Lead and own technical engagement with clients and developers
• Conduct infrastructure and Wi-Fi site surveys
• Design high-level LAN, Wi-Fi, WAN and fibre solutions
• Produce accurate cost estimates and solution scope documentation
• Present technical proposals to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Provide structured handover documentation to Provisioning/Delivery teams
• Support projects during implementation where required
• Build strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, information security and health & safety standards

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

• Strong background in managed connectivity, ISP, telecommunications or enterprise networking environments
• Experience designing LAN & Wi-Fi solutions within multi-tenanted or residential settings
• Solid technical understanding of:

• Layer 2 Ethernet switching
• 802.11 Wi-Fi technologies
• VLAN, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP
• Fibre infrastructure (single-mode & multi-mode)
• Passive Optical Networks (GPON / XGS-PON)
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to varied audiences
  • Commercial awareness and experience producing costed solutions
  • Experience working with both internal and external stakeholders

DESIRABLE

• Exposure to IPTV, smart building or IoT technologies
• Awareness of firewall and VPN solutions
• Experience with vendors such as Aruba, Ruckus, Huawei, Cambium or OpenWiFi
• Additional European language skills
